In the business of being a commercial photographer, we often have the opportunity to meet and work with some of the most dynamic, focused and motivated people around. This project was no exception. Fox 5 New York and Hot 97 radio personality Lisa Evers is one of New York City’s leading voices for community awareness and improvement, and it was a privilege to create some of the images for her upcoming website and online presence campaign. The goal was to capture Lisa in multiple settings that would showcase her friendly, personable attitude, as well as her highly respected sense of professionalism.
We put together multiple sets in our office in Trenton and shot for a good 5-6 hours. Throughout the shoot we experimented with different outfits and angles, as well as lighting setups to get the most variety out of our limited time. All of the scenes were lit with softboxes to give the photos a gentle, natural glow and to avoid harsh shadows on Lisa’s face. We also stuck to casual, office style poses to give the viewer a sense of meeting Lisa in her usual environment.
Lisa was extremely happy with the results and informed us that one of the images will be used in Hot 97′s Super Jam concert program, which will be produced by XXL magazine and distributed to 70,000 concert attendees! Needless to say, we are ecstatic about the finished products and look forward to seeing them in print form, as well as on her fresh-built website when its launched.
